Time to pay back for stolen groceries
A 29 year-old woman from North Dublin admitted with a second woman stealing groceries, value €427 from the Tesco store at Navan Shopping Centre.
Trim District Court heard on Tuesday that Winifred McDonagh, Bay 1, Gardeners Hill, Balbriggan entered the store on 22nd September last with the other woman.
Her accomplice picked up numerous groceries, and Miss McDonagh was seen pushing a trolley with the goods passed all points of payment.
Court Presenter Sergeant Alan Ratcliffe said that the defendant had seven previous convictions for thefts.
Judge Eirinn McKiernan told the defendant that the money had to be paid back.
She gave the defendant who she remanded on bail, to 3rd February, to pay compensation. If paid, the Judge said a suspended jail sentence would be imposed. If not she would receive a two month sentence.
