Mother of four given suspended sentence after slash hook incident
A MOTHER of four was arrested after Gardaí received a report concerning a slash hook, Trim District Court heard.
This resulted in Winnie Nevin (38), with an address at St Francis Park, Navan, receiving a four month suspended jail sentence in respect of a criminal damage charge. A further charge against the defendant was taken into consideration by Judge Eirinn McKiernan on Tuesday last.
The court was told that on 23rd June last a report was made to Garda regarding a slash hook outside an address in Navan.
Gardaí on investigation observed a slash hook in a van of which the defendant was the sole occupant.
Court Presenter Sergeant Alan Ratcliffe said that the defendant had previous convictions, including for possession of a flick knife.
Judge Eirinn McKiernan noted that the offence before the court occurred shortly after the defendant was previously in court.
