Navan comedian Michael Fry becomes the first celebrity to exit Dancing with the Stars

For the first time in the nine-year history of Dancing with the Stars, the first elimination took place in Week Two rather than Week Three.

Navan comedian and actor Michael Fry became the first celebrity to be eliminated from the competition.

Alongside pro dancer Kylee Vincent, Michael received the lowest combined total from judges’ scores and public votes.

Michael said: “I had the best time, and I was really scared, but I wanted to do it and I did it scared.”

Kicking off the show, Rose of Tralee Katelyn Cummins and pro dancer Leonardo Lini danced a jive to APT. by Rosé and Bruno Mars. After topping the scoreboard last week, Katelyn and Leonardo had set the bar high.

They scored 28 points.

Couple 2

Apprentice UK star Jordan Dargan and Rebecca Scott danced the Viennese Waltz to Diamonds and Roses by Kingfishr.

They scored 25 points.

Couple 3

Nationwide presenter Anne Cassin and Robert Rowiński danced the Paso Doble to The 5th by David Garrett.

They scored 18 points.

Couple 4

Fair City actress Stephanie Kelly and Ervinas Merfeldas danced the Cha Cha Cha to Britney Spears’ I’m a Slave 4 U.

They scored 19 points.

Couple 5

Ireland AM presenter Eric Roberts and Arianna Favaro performed a Foxtrot to Daisies by Justin Bieber.

They scored 22 points.

Couple 6

Michael Fry and Kylee Vincent danced a Samba to Ed Sheeran’s hit Sapphire.

They scored 23 points.

Singer-songwriter Brian Kennedy and James Cutler danced the Cha Cha Cha to Mr. Electric Blue by Benson Boone.

They scored 13 points.

Couple 8

Podcaster Amber Wilson and Alex Vladimirov tangoed across the dancefloor to Call Me by Blondie.

They scored 24 points.

Couple 9

Musician Tolü Makay and Maciej Zięba danced an American Smooth to Man I Need by Olivia Dean.

They scored 32 points.

Couple 10

Traitor Paudie Moloney and Laura Nolan performed The Godfather Waltz by Carlo Savina and Nino Rota.

They scored 23 points.

Couple 11

Olympic medal winning rower and doctor Philip Doyle and Daniela Roze danced a Salsa to Pitbull’s We Are One (Olodum Mix).

They scored 31 points.

Couple 12

Eurovision legend Niamh Kavanagh and Stephen Vincent danced a Quickstep to Billy-A-Dick by Bette Midler.

They scored 28 points.
