Navan 2030 Bakery Lane works completed in January
Works at Bakery Lane in Navan will continue in the New Year and are expected to be completed by the end of January according to an update on the Navan 2030 scheme from Meath County Council.
The pedestrian diversion has been lifted and work will be paused for the Christmas period and pedestrian access being temporarily reinstated from the Fairgreen.
The pedestrian diversion is scheduled to recommence from Monday, 5th January 2026, when works resume on site.
Due to unforeseen circumstances relating to underground utilities, the original programme for paving completion has been revised. Further works will be completed in January alongside the paving, including the installation of new public lighting columns, and associated landscaping.
An update furnished by the Council to local businesses says work are continuing to progress well across the scheme, with significant milestones reached in recent weeks.
Snagging works are currently underway throughout the scheme.
New street furniture and landscaping have been installed on Old Cornmarket laneway and at the Old Sheep Market area on Church Hill, significantly enhancing both of these public spaces.
Works to remove the old render from the retaining wall on Circular Road are now complete. A new plinth/capping has been constructed on top of the wall, and replastering works are partially complete. Plastering works are to recommence early next year once, subject to weather conditions, and this will include application of the final render surface coat.
Meanwhile, Navan Town Bus services (NV1 and NV2) are now serving the bus stops on Paddy O’Brien Street.
The town bus services will continue serving the Abbey Road bus stop on an interim basis until January 2026 to allow for bus schedule and timetable updates to be made by Bus Éireann.
Meath County Council expressed its appreciation for your continued forbearance and cooperation during the upgrade works.
