Calling All Past Pupils: Help us rekindle your school's story

As the old Lismullen National School building makes way for a new, bigger and brighter chapter, what remains unchanged are the memories held within the hearts of those who learned there.

The new school will be warmer, modern and welcoming, but for many past pupils, the memories of the old classrooms and the moments shared inside them will always hold a special place.

We’re hoping to speak with past pupils and gather those treasured memories that stayed with us long after childhood ended.

We’re creating special Chalk talk editions full of school nostalgia, starting with Lismullen and we need the people who know the school best: you.

Think of the moments only you remember. Even the smallest memories matter. In fact, they’re often the ones that bring the biggest smile.

With so many past pupils now adults, with children and grandchildren now attending, this is a rare chance to gather these stories before they fade. A chance to celebrate Lismullen NS, honour its place in the community, and create a keepsake for the generations still to come.

Whether you have:

- a photo from the 1950s, 1980s or early 2000s

- a story that still makes you laugh

- the name of a favourite teacher

- a moment you’ve never forgotten

We’d love to include it.

Lismullen is the first school in a new Chalk Talk nostalgia series honouring Meath’s school communities. Let’s give it the tribute it deserves.
