VIDEO: CMAT stuns fans with surprise gig in her local Dunboyne village pub

What a weekend it was for Dunboyne's CMAT! The 'Take a Sexy Picture' star capped a sellout 3Arena show on Friday and a last gasp dash to make the Late Late Toy Show with a surprise set in her local village pub, Brady's on Saturday night.

CMAT (Ciara Mary Alice Thompson) announced that The Late Late Toy Show viewers donated over €4m to the Toy Show Appeal during Friday night's show.

The Dublin singer made a surprise appearance at the end of the show, fresh from performing at her sold-out gig at Dublin's 3Arena.

Since the Toy Show Appeal's inception in 2020, viewers have donated in record numbers - with this year being no different.

As this year's action-packed show drew to a close, host Patrick Kielty invited popstar CMAT to reveal the total amount donated on the night - a whopping €4,003,179.

CMAT had dashed from her 3Arena gig to the RTE studio where some of her biggest fans gathered to perform her hit ''Stay For Something at the end of the show tonight.

After their performance, host Patrick Kielty said: “I’m not sure if you know this but CMAT is actually on stage tonight. So she’s performing.

He warned the kids to not get “too excited” saying: “I mean she was performing on the stage at the 3Arena and when she heard that you guys were going to be on the show performing one of her songs she decided she wanted to send you this little message.”

In the special video, CMAT sat in her green room and said: “Hi kids, CMAT here. I heard you’re going to be performing one of my songs in the Late Late Toy Show. That’s so amazing. I’m so sorry that I can’t make it.

“I’m backstage at the 3Arena right now. I’m on stage. I really wouldn’t have given anything to be there… I wish I could have been there.”

The video ended with the Dunboyne singer saying: “Guess what?”

She then appeared live on set behind the little performers to surprise everyone and shouted out: “I’m here!”

Over one million people tuned in tonight to watch one the Toy Show.

Then on Saturday night, Dunboyne's Diana headed for her local of Brady's along with her band and instead of playing one or two songs, performed her entire 3Arena set for ecstatic fans in the packed village pub.

One delighted fan at the surprise gig said CMAT had originally told the pub owners that she intended to show up with family and maybe play one or two songs.

"She ended showing up with the whole band and some equipment and it turned into this surprise gig, the whole set from her 3Arena show the night before, it was just amazing. She started at about 8pm and finished at 10.30ish."
