Falynn Mackey with 'Lady' their year old Bulldog who has been missing since 30th November.

Owner offers €1,000 reward for safe return of beloved pets

The devastated owner of two-much loved family dogs missing for over two weeks has made an emotional appeal for their return.

Falynn Mackey firmly believes the Lady, a year old bulldog and Lilo, an eight-month-old pug must have been stolen as they have vanished without a trace from Robinstown.

Falynn live in the old Terrace in the village and told how the dogs were last seen at 1pm on the afternoon of Sunday, 30th November, in Clady Meadows estate which is just behind their back garden.

"There has been absolutely nothing, it is like they have literally just vanished," said an emotional Falynn.

She told how have they scoured all the local fields, ditches and farm buildings as well as knocking on doors all around the village but to no avail.

They are so desperate to get their beloved pets back that Falynn and husband Steve are offering a €1,000 reward for their safe return.

The suspected theft of the dogs has been reported to Gardai and the couple have also contacted dog wardens in Meath and surrounding counties as well as all the vets they know of in Trim and Navan. They have also notified Dublin Port and ports in Northern Ireland.

Falynn believes the dogs must have been stolen as they have just disappeared and nobody in the village has seen any trace of them.

She explained that bull dogs could be sold for up to €2,500 and pugs for up to €1,000. They have been looking at websites online to see if they are offered for sale but Falynn says it is too early and whoever took them is likely to wait before putting them up for sale.

Both dogs are female but are neutered so cannot be used for breeding. They are microchipped and the microchip company has been notified of their theft.

The disappearance of their beloved pets has left a huge void in their family and Falynn has made a desperate appeal for their safe return.

"Our daughter Reilly is just six. She is absolutely devastated. We all are. We have a little boy Luke who is only three and he keeps asking where they are, and why is their bed empty. How do you explain it to a child?"

Lady, who has been missing from Robinstown for two weeks.

"We have covered miles and miles. We have walked through fields with cows and sheep until we hit rivers and turned back. We have knocked on peoples doors, gone into old farm buildings and barns.

"Nobody has seen anything it is as if they have just vanished."

Lilo, an eight month old pug has been missing, presumed stolen, since 30th November.

Because the dogs are microchipped, if they are brought to a vets it will show up but Falynn said this could take months before they would show up.

"We just want them back home now," she said.

Anyone who has seen Lady and Lilo or anyone with information that could help lead to their return is asked to contact Falynn on 085-7714551.
