Enfield Macra's Live Crib makes a welcome return

For the first time in a number of years, Enfield Macra's Live Crib makes a return this Saturday, 6th December from 1.30pm-5pm with all funds raised going to St Vincent de Paul.

Complete with donkey, sheep and a cow, the crib will of course also feature Macra members as Mary, Joseph, the wise men and shepherds.

The event is being put on by Enfield Macra with the support of other Macra clubs. The organising committee is made up of Laura Scanlon, Dermot Connolly, Julianne Grehan, Laura Daly, Conor Maguire, Róisín Connolly, and Martin Flood.

Committee member Julianne Grehan expressed their thanks to Enfield Hire for allowing use of their space for free and said they hope to raise as much money as possible for St Vincent de Paul on the day.

"The live crib was always a massive success expecially with kids and we will be providing facepainting on the day," she said.

"While Enfield Macra are hosting, we are supported by the wider Meath macra gang in helping to make it happen. So far we have a cow and calf from Conor Maguire, Longwood, sheep from Conor Murtagh, Longwood, and a donkey from Tara and John Hoey Wilkinstown."

The lcoal Comhaltas will kick off events, playing for 90 minutes with festive music to follow.

There is no parking onsite but it is in the town so Julianne said it is easily accessible by walking.

Please note that no dogs are allowed to keep the livestock safe.
