Community rallies for men’s mental health at Movember Fundraiser

Fit and Funky Fitness in Bailieborough, Cavan brought the community together on November 29th and 30th for a special two-day fundraising event in honour of Men’s Mental Health Month, supporting awareness and vital funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s mental well-being.

Participants arrived to a lively atmosphere filled with energy, camaraderie, and plenty of moustaches — thanks to Fit and Funky Fitness, who provided fun “mos” for everyone to wear during the workouts.

The “Grow a Mo, Save a Bro” spirit was strong, with conversations flowing easily and attendees opening up about mental health while moving their bodies and supporting a meaningful cause.

Classes were led by owners Liam O’Reilly and Louise O’Reilly, who not only ran the sessions, but participated alongside the community. As a family-run business — also behind the Funky Monkey Café — their passion and personal commitment added a heartfelt touch to the event.

Participants enjoyed upbeat, challenging sessions featuring the ski, row, and bike concept equipment, encouraging people to push their own fitness while enjoying the group energy. A strong turnout of both men and women showcased the community’s commitment to promoting men’s health and breaking stigma around mental well-being.

The Funky Monkey Café provided complimentary smoothies, sweet treats, and energy balls, keeping spirits high and fuelling the effort throughout the weekend.

A significant amount of funds was raised for men’s health causes, marking a powerful end to 2025 for Fit and Funky Fitness’ charity and community efforts.

With their upcoming expansion to Navan, Row, Bike and Ski, the team looks forward to hosting future fitness-based fundraisers and sparking a healthy, friendly rivalry between the Bailieborough and Navan communities in 2026.

The weekend event was a true celebration of community strength, support, and shared purpose — showing what can happen when people come together to move, talk, and make a difference.'
