Eureka was delighted to host the Regional Final of the ISTA Senior Science Quiz during Science Week.

This annual quiz took place across 16 locations in Ireland on Thursday, bringing together teams of three Sixth Year science students to compete in a traditional table quiz format.

Each quiz featured 8 rounds of 6 questions, drawn from the Leaving Certificate Biology, Chemistry, and Physics syllabi, as well as general science knowledge and recent science news.

The top-performing teams in each location qualify for the National Final, which will take place at Trinity College Dublin on Saturday, 6th December, sponsored by BioPharmaChemical Ireland.

At Eureka, 20 teams from schools in Meath and Cavan competed in a fun and competitive evening, with each round interspersed with spot prizes. The competition was fierce, with just a single point separating the winners.

First place went to Dunshaughlin Community School, while Loreto Cavan took second and third places. Eureka secured fourth place, rounding off a fantastic night of science, teamwork, and friendly rivalry.
