Gardai renew appeal for information tracing whereabouts of missing Navan teen

Gardaí are continuing to seek the public's assistance in tracing the whereabouts of Benjamin Spot (14), who was reported missing in Navan, Co. Meath on Wednesday, 19th November 2025.

Benjamin is described as being approximately 5 foot 1 inches in height, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Benjamin was last seen cycling from the Market Square in Navan towards the Kentstown Road/Ramparts area of Navan last Wednesday evening, 19th November 2025 around 5.55pm.

Benjamin’s bicycle was subsequently found at the Ramparts, Navan the following day, 20th November.

Gardaí and Benjamin’s family are concerned for his well-being.

Search efforts have been continuing along the River Boyne for another missing Navan man, 27-year-old Jordan Newman has been missing since Monday 10th November.

The Garda helicopter was called into assist in the search along the River Boyne on Tuesday and conducted a two-hour site scan of a stretch of the river from the centre of Navan out as far as Slane.

Meath River Resucue volunteers have been an everpresent on the River Boyne since Jordan Newman was reported missing, conducting searches in what they describe as "very difficult conditions" as a result of high waters brought on by torrential rain earlier this month.

Christopher Rennicks of MMR said their members were carrying out daily surface searches and drags of the river but diving was too dangerous. "We carry on and hope that we can bring some sort of closure to families affected. Conditions are quite difficult but we're used to that too, we just have to keep going.

Meath River Rescue have been joined in their efforts by Meath Civil Defence, Boyne Fishermen and Irish Underwater Search & Rescue as well as local volunteers searching along riverbanks.

A garda spokesperson said the the searches for Jordan Newman and Benjamin Spot was ongoing and that family liasion officers had been appointed to the families of both.

"The Garda helicopter has been used to to sweep parts of the river while the Garda Underwater Unit has also been involved in the searches and that will continue," he said.
