Holders knocked out of U-19 championship
St Patrick's avenged their defeat in last years final by knocking out holders Seneschalstown in the semi-final of the u-19 FC year's

Inspired by defeat in last year's final, two late points ensured St Patrick’s knocked out holders Seneschalstown in the semi-final of the u-19 FC Div 1 on Monday evening.
The visitors opened the scoring within a minute before Cian Hosie responded for Seneschalstown’s after nine minutes.The early exchanges were very low scoring and after 19 minutes St Patrick’s held a slender advantage of 0-2 to 0-1.
Seneschalstown did have a chance to raise a green flag through a quick counter-attack but Jamie Norris was denied by a smart stop from the St. Patrick’s goalkeeper.
The home side edged in front courtesy of two-point free from Charlie Finnegan after 26 minutes. St Patrick’s then respondd with a two-point free of their own and led at the interval by 0-4 to 0-3.
Upon the resumption, the East Meath side increased their advantage straight from the throw-in with a nice score. Cian Commons responded well for Seneschalstown when he launched an effort between the posts from just outside the two point arc to draw his side level.
St Patrick’s then seized momentum and kicked the next four socres which left them with a 0-9 to 0-5 lead after 50 minutes.
Finnegan brought Seneschalstown right back into the contest with his second two-point free but St Patrick’s closed out the game well with the last two scores. The final whistle confirmed the Stamullen sides’ spot in the decider with St Peter’s.
