'Youth Night' events to take place across Meath
A series of events will be taking place across Meath and nationwide tomorrow evening to mark the first 'Oíche na hÓige or 'Youth Night' - a new national celebration of young people and the youth sector.
The Minister for Education and Youth in partnership with the Education and Training Boards, the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) and youth work sector is inviting everyone in Louth and Meath and across Ireland to join in taking part in Oíche na hÓige/Youth Night 2025.
The event sees youth clubs, services and community groups in Louth and Meath and across Ireland host local gatherings to celebrate the energy, creativity, and achievements of young people — as well as the vital work of youth workers and volunteers.
From music performances, to art exhibitions, discos, and storytelling, the range of events on offer all over the country will offer a night to remember.
In Meath, Enfield Macra will host a table quiz and raffle in the Gregory Inn, Enfield, at 7.30pm to raise funds for Ovacare and also to raise awareness about the many activities the club is involved in.
The 11th Meath Kilcloon Scout Group will host an open night at Kilcloon National School, Meath, from 7-9pm, while 5th Meath Kells Scouts will host a skills demonstration from 6pm to 8pm at the Fairgreen Car Park.
Navan Girl Guides will host an open event at Navan Youth Club from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday, 24th November. Mullagh Girl Guides will host an event tonight (Friday) night, while Mosney Girl Guides will host an event on Tuesday night.
Local Foróige groups will also be celebrating the first ever youth night. Athboy Foróige will celebrate youth creativity, community, and fun, putting the spotlight on members’ achievements — from involvement in shadow filming for the Púca Festival to the leadership skills developed through Foróige’s Leadership for Life programme. Other fun activities include music bingo experience, exciting interactive games, face painting, fun displays, and hands-on activities that capture the spirit of the club. The event takes place from 7pm to 9pm in St James Hall and is open to everyone so to come along and enjoy refreshments, meet members, and discover what youth work in Athboy is all about.
Oldcastle Foróige will also host an evening of music, comedy and games with refreshments at Oldcastle Credit Union from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Ratoath Foróige will host an open night from 7.30pm to 9pm in the Ratoath Scouts Den from
Navan Youth Club will have an open night with fun crafts and a magician from 7pm to 9pm.
Meath Youth Together's event takes place at Navan Youth Cafe from 6pm to 9.30pm. An event also takes place at Windtown Community Centre from 6.30pm to 9pm.
Ardee Youth Band will host ‘Our Youth, Our Future: Banding Together’ at the Bohemian Centre, Ardee, from 7pm.
