Status Yellow warning in place for Meath as Status Orange issued for Dublin

Several counties across Ireland could be issued with a Status Red rainfall warning by Met Eireann ahead of 150mm falls of rain, with schools across the country set to close early today.

A yellow rainfall alert has been in place from 9am this morning for Meath, Carlow, Dublin, Kildare and several other counties and will stay in place until 9am tomorrow morning.

Dublin, Wexford and Wicklow have been issued with a Status Orange warning which will remain in place until 8am tomorrow morning.

Meath will also remain under a Status Yellow wind warning with strong and gusty north easterly winds predicted from 12pm today until 4am tonight.

Met Eireann have warned of flooding, difficult travelling conditions, wind related debris and poor visibility.
