Oldcastle artist celebrates Ireland’s rich history and culture

Brid Fanning Art

Tell us about your business and team

Bríd Fanning is an Irish visual artist from Oldcastle who set up her art business in 2020 after spending over 20 years in the corporate sector working as a graphic designer. Bríd creates original artworks in acrylics and oils with cold wax using a palette knife, creating limited edition prints and unique lamps all made in Ireland.

Drawing inspiration from the people, animals, and landscapes, she uses bold colour and texture to reconnect with and celebrate Ireland’s rich history and culture. Her art is a constantly evolving process, reflecting her passion for learning and refining her distinctive style. Her business has since grown into a recognised Irish brand with collectors across Ireland and internationally.

Describe the best thing about your service

The best thing about my service as an artist is the opportunity I get to share from my heart a genuine love for Ireland’s culture and heritage through my work. After many years in the corporate world, I feel grateful to now create art that brings colour and connection into others’ lives. Each piece— whether a painting, print, or lamp—is made with care and inspired by the beauty and spirit of Ireland. I’m continually learning and refining my craft, and it means so much that my work resonates with others both at home and abroad. Their support encourages me to keep creating from the heart.

What's the best business advice you've ever been given?

The best business advice I’ve received came from a former boss who told me to “do what makes your heart sing!” His words still guide me today, reminding me to believe in myself, stay true to my art, and keep creating with honesty and heart.

What does the future hold for your business?

The future of my business holds exciting possibilities. My dream is to open my own studio, gallery, and shop — a welcoming space to create, exhibit, and share my work. I hope it will also become a place to teach and inspire others, encouraging creativity and connection through art in the community.
