Peil For All goes from strength to strength in O'Mahonys

GAA

Navan O’Mahonys' Peil For All team held their end-of-year exhibition game in Paddy O’Brien Park earlier this month.

The initiative, spearheaded by Kate O’Neill which is in its fourth year, is going from strength to strength.

About 20 adult players have been training weekly since March, with additional players from all sections of the club also taking part in the match.

The match was a great opportunity for the players to show off the skills they learned this year.

After the match, Meath Ladies goalkeeper Robyn Murray and Meath Ladies u-20 captain Sarah Maguire presented the players with medals.

One of the coaches, Aaron Coyle, then presented the players with personalised gear using funds he raised running the Dublin Marathon in 2024. This event capped off a fantastic year for the team, which also included a training session on hallowed ground in Croke Park.

The Peil for All Programme is open to all adults with physical and intellectual disabilities and there is no charge.

New players are always welcome and training will be resuming in the spring of 2026.

The club also has a similar initiative for children led by Health and Wellbeing Officer Eunice Murtagh.
