Fairgreen works underway in October 2024.

Navan 2030 streetscape works wrap up on the Fairgreen

As the Navan 2030 works continue, the Fairgreen has now reopened to two-way traffic. The remaining works to be completed in this area include the installation of street furniture, landscaping and ‘snagging’ works. The steel pole adjacent to St Anne’s Loreto Primary School, which previously supported the overhead power cables and fibre broadband, has now been decommissioned and will be removed by ESB over the coming weeks. Once removed, the paving works to footpath and entrance at this location are to be completed by the contractor.

The upgrade works are continuing on Bakery Lane on the section from the archway to Fairgreen. Pedestrian access to Bakery Lane and the Trimgate Mall continues to be directed via Trimgate Street.

Paving works to the vehicular entrance to St Mary’s Church of Ireland on Church Hill have commenced and will be completed shortly. New public lighting in Old Cornmarket laneway has been commissioned with further lighting to be added. Localised paving works, signage and ‘snagging’ works in this area are also planned to continue over the coming weeks.

Construction works continues this month on Paddy O’Brien Street, with the construction of the new bus stop on the opposite side of the road to Eason. A temporary traffic management plan has been implemented to facilitate the upgrade works, with a one-way system in operation and the temporary relocation of the bus stop to Kennedy Road bus interchange for the duration

Works to remove the old render on the retaining wall on Circular Road have commenced and a new plinth is to be constructed on top of the wall. The replastering of the wall will then be completed. Temporary traffic management measures, which aim to provide for unimpeded traffic flow, will be in place for the duration.
