Fagan leads powerful tribute to country star Chris Stapleton

Castletown performer Kevin Fagan is preparing to take on one of his most soulful challenges yet, as he brings the music of country megastar Chris Stapleton to life in a powerful new tribute show, Tennessee Whiskey The Chris Stapleton Songbook.

Set to take to the stage at The Headfort Arms Hotel on Sunday, October 26th, this exciting production promises an evening of powerhouse vocals, southern soul, and the gritty emotion that has made Stapleton a modern icon.

With Fagan at the helm and backed by a stellar five-piece live band, the show celebrates the hits that catapulted Stapleton to stardom including Fire Away, Broken Halos, Millionaire, and the timeless Tennessee Whiskey.

The idea for the show was sparked after Fagan attended Stapleton’s sold-out 3Arena concert in Dublin last year.

“I managed to get tickets for Chris Stapleton's sold-out 3Arena show last November and couldn't get over it,” he says. “What a voice! The show was incredible and I just came away thinking, I want to do something about this. I love his music, and there seems to be a big love of American country music in this country, so I went about putting this show together.”

“We've a full live band complete with pedal steel guitar, the works to give it the most authentic feel we can. It's shaping up to be a super show and we're really looking forward to it.”

Known for his powerful vocals and commanding stage presence, Fagan has built a reputation as one of Meath’s most versatile performers. In addition to his work in musical theatre, he previously wowed audiences as frontman in Rock Rising a high-octane celebration of classic rock featuring hits from AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Foreigner, Journey, Toto, and more. The show, backed by a seven-piece band and custom-designed light and pyrotechnic show, was met with critical acclaim and cemented Fagan’s place as a standout live performer.

His musical theatre résumé is equally impressive. Fagan played Judas in St Mary’s Musical Society’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar, earning the AIMS Best Male Singer award for his portrayal. Other roles include Cable in South Pacific, Bill in Me & My Girl, Tobias in Sweeney Todd (AIMS Best Male Singer nominee 2012), Che in Evita, Drew Boley in Rock of Ages (Leixlip – AIMS Best Male Singer winner 2016), and John Tallentire in The Hired Man (AIMS Best Actor winner 2018).

By day, Kevin is a primary school teacher in Slane, where he has led numerous music projects with students.
