Former county councillor charged with damaging neighbour's car
A Navan man in his early 50s is to go before the Circuit Court on charges of damaging a neighbour’s car on several different dates last year.
Wayne Forde of Parnell Park in the town was returned to the next sitting of Trim Circuit Court for trial or sentence on a plea of guilty
The accused was served with the book of evidence in the case, containing six charges on Thursday last, and was remanded on bail at Trim District Court to the sitting of the higher court on 21st October.
He is charged with damaging a Hyundai car on dates between 25th March and 4th November 2024. He is alleged to have scraped the vehicle, and used a car key on a number of the dates to damage the bonnet, wheel arch and a headlight and front left wing of the vehicle.
The accused was assigned solicitor Miriam Regan and a junior counsel under the legal aid scheme to represent him. Mr Forde is a former member of Meath County Council.
