A Halloween guide to the Royal County

Meath is the home of Halloween, with The Hill of Ward being credited with the holiday's origins. It only makes sense that the Royal County is bustling with Halloween fun.

Halloween brings lots of exciting and spooky activities for all ages to Meath this year, from haunted houses to pumpkin patches. Here is a guide at a glance for the spookiest events and attractions on this October.

Farmaphobia

Labelled as Ireland's 'biggest and best scream park', Faramphobia at Causey Farm in Kells is sure to get you in the Halloween spirit. With six 'haunts' and plenty of fun inbetween, Farmaphobia promises to make you jump with it's creepy actors and themed attractions. This event is perfect for thrill seekers.

Take a stroll through 'The Cornjuring' corn maze in the dead of night and try to dodge the ghouls along the way. The event is spread across an 100 Acre farm and is suitable for ages 13 and over. The event runs from 3rd October to 1st November. For more information and tickets, click here.

Púca Halloween Festival

Spread over four days from 30th October to 2nd November, Púca Festival returns to The Royal County for it's 2025 rendition. Púca Festival celebrates Ireland as the birthplace of Halloween with it's immersive and fascinating festival.

Music, spectacle and performance take the streets to bring ancient tradition to life with it's free and ticketed events. Blindboy, Groove Armada and The High Kings are just some of the artists on the incredible line up over the weekend. The festival is spread throughout Trim and Athboy. Samhain Festival of Food and Culture

From 6th to 9th November, Ireland’s rich culinary and cultural heritage will be celebrated in Kells at Samhain Festival of Food and Culture. Families can enjoy engaging kids’ workshops and activities, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Pumpkin Picking at Guy Farm Produce

Guy's Pumpkin Patch is a fun family day out for any and all ages, based in Broadsmill. Pick your own pumpkins on a family run farm where you'll find pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. Pooka Spooka at Causey Farm

Causey Farm in Fordstown will be home to another year of Pooka Spooka once again for families looking for a spooky setting. From fortune telling and limb throwing to exploring Mineshaft Tunnels and getting lost in the corn maze, there is plenty for kids and parents alike. After Dark at Emerald Park
