Luke Combs to Headline Slane Castle Concert in Summer 2026
The wait is over at Slane Castle, as the long-rumoured return of live music to the iconic venue has been officially confirmed. American country music superstar Luke Combs will headline a major concert at Slane on July 18, 2026, as part of his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour.
Excitement had reached fever pitch earlier this week following a teaser video posted to the castle’s official Instagram account, sparking speculation that Combs would be part of a headline line-up. Today’s announcement ends weeks of suspense—and sets the stage for another historic night at one of the world’s most legendary outdoor venues.
The concert will mark Slane’s first major show since Harry Styles drew a crowd of 80,000 in 2023, and promises to be another unforgettable event in the castle’s four-decade tradition of hosting global music legends.
Combs will be joined by The Script, Ty Myers, and The Castellows, bringing a full day of country and pop-rock to the natural amphitheatre on the banks of the River Boyne.
“This year has been awesome. We’ve gotten to play some of the most iconic festivals in the world and promote country music in ways that it normally isn’t,” said Combs. “That said, while the festivals are awesome, there’s nothing like a headline show on a full tour with all of my fans. It’s hard to beat.”
Tickets for the Slane Castle concert are priced from €121.25 including booking fee and will go on general sale on Friday, October 17 at 10am via Ticketmaster. Fans eager to secure their spot early will have several presale opportunities: Combs’ official fan club, The Bootleggers, will have access from Tuesday, October 14 at 10am. An MCD presale will follow on Wednesday, October 15, and a Mastercard presale will open from 10am on Thursday, October 16.
Among those welcoming the return of live music to Slane is local Fianna Fáil Councillor Wayne Harding, who praised the continuation of the Mount Charles family’s musical legacy while paying tribute to the late Lord Henry Mount Charles.
“I welcome the announcement today that a rock concert will again take place at the world-famous Slane Castle venue,” said Cllr Harding. “We are now into the fifth decade of world-famous acts appearing at the natural amphitheatre on the banks of the River Boyne. I wish Alex and his family well in what has been a difficult year for them, having lost Henry earlier this year—the man whose vision saw Slane Castle become one of the world’s most iconic rock concert venues.”
Cllr Harding also confirmed that concert organisers have already opened early lines of communication with community leaders and local representatives, adding: “I know that the promoters have made initial contact with local representative bodies, and I will work with them and Meath County Council to enhance the already established benefits of the concerts for the local community.”
Combs’ appearance in 2026 not only adds to Slane Castle’s illustrious list of past performers—including Queen, U2, David Bowie, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan—but also signals a new era under Alex Mount Charles’ stewardship.
