Navan man in court over driving without licence

A Navan man charged with driving without a licence charge was already serving a four year and six month sentence in relation to more serious offences during the same incident and he already had a 99 year disqualification from driving four years ago.

Brian Reilly (30), from Tailteann Drive, Navan made a signed plea in relation to numerous road traffic offences taking place on 14th and 22nd November last year.

The court heard he was in Trim Circuit Court in relation to the same incident for hit and run and endangerment among other offences. He subsequently receiving a four year and six month sentence on 21st March and was disqualified for ten years.

He has several previous convictions including on 15th January 2021 for refusing a blood sample, dangerous driving, and no insurance. He was disqualified from driving for 99 years following this incident.

On 22nd November last year at Abbeylands Navan he was found to be driving without a license and refusing to give a sample for drug testing. He was also found guilty of no insurance and possession of the drug Alprazaline on 14th November last year.

He was given a ten year driving disqualification concurrent with the Trim Circuit Court sentence.
