Man to appear in court in relation to Boardsmill hit and run
The man, aged in his 40s, who was arrested in connection with the investigation into the fatal collision in Boardsmill that claimed the life of 80 year old Ned McLoughlin has been charged. He is due to appear before Trim District Court this morning, Thursday 18th September 2025, at 10.30am.
The arrested man had been detained at a Garda Station in the Eastern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. A vehicle was also recovered.
The late Mr McLoughin of Doolistown, Trim who had been cycling was discovered unresponsive last Friday (12th Seoptember), and removed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Investigating Gardaí at Trim Garda Station had issued an appeal to the public for information.
