'It’s amazing to see this mural here where Ciara grew up'... CMAT's mam speaks on her daughter's growing success
The people of Dunboyne came out to see CMAT unveil a stunning new mural of the singers face on the side of Ardu Speciality Coffee in Dunboyne Village on Friday evening.
Amongst those who came out in support was the star's mother, Sinead Lanigan. The pop star grew up in Dunboyne so it was a special day for everyone involved.
Sinead last spoke to The Meath Chronicle back in 2023, saying that she was "delighted" to see her daughter headline Otherside Festival in Slane during the Summer of 2023, and that "it was such a special gig because it was in Meath where Ciara (CMAT) grew up."
CMAT has since played Glastonbury and performed on Later... with Jules Holland this year. Her third studio album 'Euro-Country' was also released last Friday and she has sold out the 3Arena in Dublin for her upcoming December show.
Addressing how much her daughter's career has progressed in the last two years, Sinead said "I never thought that everything would happen so fast and escalate so quickly.
I knew she always had the potential and determination but this year everything has really blown up.
She’s proud to be Irish and she calls out a lot of negative things and uses her platform for that.
It’s absolutely amazing to see this mural here where Ciara grew up, I could not believe it when I heard about it.
I came down to see it yesterday and thought ‘wow, there’s my daughter up on the side of a wall in our town.’ It’s brilliant, and it’s great for Dunboyne."
