St John of God provided with four new vehicles to assist service users in North East

St John of God Community Services has announced the delivery of four brand new vehicles to assist in transporting service users to and from its local day and residential facilities in the North East.

The new Kia Sportage vehicles were purchased with the assistance of St John of God Foundation Better Lives Programme and with the support of Kia Ireland.

The addition of the four new vehicles will greatly enhance the organisation’s transportation capacity ensuring improved access and support for people using the service, many of whom rely on external transportation.

St John of God Community Services provides essential support to approximately 8,000 people nationwide and to 333 people in the North East region.

This latest investment represents a significant improvement to its transport fleet, ensuring it can continue to offer reliable, accessible transportation, while further strengthening their commitment to improving the quality of life for its service users.

Speaking about the development, Kevin Madigan, Chief Executive of St John of God Community Services said “this is a very welcome development, and it underlines our ongoing commitment to our service users."

The new vehicles were recently delivered to St John of God North East Services and have a capacity for five persons in total.

They will be driven by specially trained members of staff at St John of God Community Services.
