Royal nostalgia... Collection of Meath GAA match programmes spannning three decades donated to Navan charity shop
An extensive collection of GAA memorabilia including match programmes dating back to the mid 1980s and county yearbooks were kindly donated to Vision Ireland in Navan by an unknown donor.
The staff at Vision Ireland Navan kindly lent the collection to The Meath Chronicle to have a look at.
Among the programmes in the collection are the All-Ireland finals of 1988 between Meath and Cork, drawn match and replay; The All-Ireland semi-final 1991, Meath v Roscommon and the final Meath v Down.
The programme from Meath's famous win over Kerry in the 2001 semi-final is also in the collection as is the All-Ireland final Meath v Galway.
Other programmes of interest include the 2002 All-Ireland final between Armagh and Kerry where Meath played Derry in the minor decider.
For Dublin fans there is the 1995 programme when the last two Dublin managers' Jim Gavin and Dessie Farrell lined out on the winning team against Tyrone.
A publication which will be of particular interest to older Meath Gaels is the Golden 49'ers which was published on the 50th anniversary to commemorate Meath first ever All-Ireland senior football win in 1949.
The programmes and yearbooks are available to purchase at Vision Ireland, Navan in Navan town centre.
