Simonstown girls' guard of honour for their Meath heroes

From leading by nine points 10 minutes into the second-half Meath just about held on to secure their place in the Ladies Leinster SFC final with a narrow victory over Kildare at Newbridge yesterday afternoon.

The prize for the Royals is to open the fare in Croke Park on Leinster final day next Sunday against Dublin before the men's team take on Louth in the provincial decider.

The Meath Ladies had terrific support in the form of the U10 Simonstown GFC girls who did their club and county proud by performing a guard of honour welcoming Emma Duggan, Vikki Wall and the Meath team onto the pitch and played a mini game at half-time against Celbridge GFC.

"Congratulations to Meath Ladies on a great win and for giving their time to stand for photos and sign jerseys after the game. Great memories were made today," said Colette Traynor of Simonstown GFC who thanked all involved with Meath and Kildare LGFA.
