French takes vice-chair role on Trim Muncipal District Council

At the February meeting of Trim Municipal District Council on Friday, Noel French was elected Leas-Cathaoirleach filling the vacancy created by the recent election of Ronan Moore to role of Cathaoirleach.

Former councillor Aisling Dempsey had held the position of Cathaoirleach from June until her election to Dáil Eireann, with Social Democrat Ronan Moore as leas-cathaoirleach but with Cllr Moore recently elected to the role, this created a vacancy for the role of leas cathaoirleach.

Also at the meeting, Cllr Paul O'Rourke, who was co-opted to Aisling Dempsey's council seat, was appointed to the Board of Meath Arts Centre Ltd and also Trim Sports & Leisure Centre Company Ltd to fill the vacancy created by Dempsey's election to Dáil Éireann.
