6th December: Craft Fair in aid of Acquired Brain Injury
The Meath branch of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland will host a Christmas Craft Market in its clubhouse at 26 Brews Hill on Friday, 6th December from 3pm to 6pm. There will a fabulous selection of crafts made at the clubhouse on sale and this promises to be an afternoon of festive fun with a surprise guest due to visit from the North Pole.
All proceeds will go towards the Clubhouse service run by Acquired Brain Injury Ireland in Meath which supports those living with a brain injury to increase their independence and access peer support in a safe environment.
6th December: Longwood Craft Fair
Longwood Christmas Craft Gair takes place from 5pm-8pm in Longwood Community Hall. Lots of stalls with baking sweet treats, handmade crafts, holly wreaths, jams and chutneys, jewellery, candles, knits and much more. There will also be a raffle and a visit from Santa. Proceeds to Longwood Tidy Towns.
7th December: Zak's Toy Run
, a toy run event in memory of 11-year-old Zak Moran from Navan, takes place on Saturday, 7th December from Navan Retail Park. Organised by Zak's friends and family, in conjunction with motorcycle clubs and groups including Devils Disciples MC, Green Demons SC, Tarbh MCC, Outkasts MCC, Meath Bike Meets, Lost Rats MCC and Holly Dennis Racing, registration is from 10am and the motorbike run to deliver the gifts set off at 11.30am.
This is the second toy run event in memory of Zak and like last year promises to be a huge spectacle as motorcylists from clubs around the region come together to deliver the gifted toys to sick children in Temple Street Children's Hospital and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
7th & 8th December- Kilmessan lights up
The annual lighting of the Christmas tree in the village by Skane Valley Community Council takes place on Saturday at 6.45pm at the Church of Ireland grounds.
While the Christmas marker takes place in the old school groudns on Sunday 12noon to 5.30pm in the old school yard with carols, Santa and crafts.
The Kilmessan Cross Country Chase takes place on Sunday, 8th December at 12noon. Cap is €40 per adult, €25 for children with refreshments and a raffle afterwards in the village hall. Over 100 participated last year with all proceeds going directly to funding GAA coaching for local schools.
15th December: Craft Fair, Carlanstown
A Christmas market takes place in the Deerpark Community Hub, Carlanstown, this Sunday, 15th December from 10am to 4pm. There will be over 40 stalls so it is the perfect opportunity to pick up some gifts as you enjoy the festive atmosphere with live music. For the children, there will be face painting and a visit from Santa Claus.
16th December: Gluais Christmas Show
Trim's youth musical group 'Gluais' wil host its annual Christmas Concert in Scoil Mhuire, Trim on Monday, 16th December at 7.30pm. With a foot-tapping variety of Christmas songs and carols to be performed by the 35 strong band of teenagers, this festive night is one not to be missed.
All proceeds and profits from the night will be donated directly to the Irish Cancer Society. Tickets are €12 and are available to buy online at here Eventbrite. For more information, follow 'Gluais' on Facebook and Instagram.
21st December: Trim Christmas Light Parade
Trim Christmas Light Parade takes place on Saturday 21st December from the Oaktree Business Park. Registration is (€20) with proceeds going to local charities. Vehicles will gather from 4.30am and depart at 6pm sharp. The route travels along the Ring Road, entering town onto Castle St, Market St and Emmet St and should be in the town centre between 6.15pm to 6.30pm. All vehicles welcome. Lights essential, fancy dress preferred. Donations can also be made on 'idonate' with all money raised to go to local Trim charities including Trim Special Olympics, So Sad, Meath Hospice, Friends of St Josephs and also the Cardiac unit at Crumlin Children's Hospital.
22nd December - Moynalty Christmas Lights Tractor Run
Moynalty Christmas Lights Tractor Run takes place on Sunday, 22nd December in aid of Meath Palliative Care. Registration from 2.30pm, departing at 4pm from the Steam Threshing Field.
