Meath hosts the 65th Chief Fire Officers Association Annual Conference

Delegates, trade exhibitors, speakers, and guests from all over the world will descend on Trim tomorrow (Wednesday) for the 65th Annual Chief Fire Officer’s Association Conference.

The Chief Fire Officers Association is the professional representative association for Chief Fire Officers nationally. This is one of the most prestigious events of its kind in Ireland, with over 400 delegates and trade representatives expected to attend the two-day event in the Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim.

There will be a large trade exhibition both indoors and outdoors covering a multitude of products and services relevant to the fire services, including new fire appliances and other fleet.

The theme of the 2024 conference is ‘Igniting the Future; Cultivating Sustainable Transformation in the Fire Services’ and will bring together leading speakers, all of them very experienced in their own discipline, from both within and outside the fire service community to share their expert views.

Those invited to speak are from the USA, Finland, Slovenia, the UK and Ireland. Included on the panel of speakers is entrepreneur and dragon Gavin Duffy, who will speak on ‘Communicating Effectively for Progressive Emergency Services.’

Former Meath Manager and Herbalist Sean Boylan will also present on ‘Leadership that Inspires’ at the conference.

The conference will be opened by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien, Meath County Council Cathaoirlach, Tommy Reilly, and Chief Executive Meath County Council Kieran Kehoe.
