Behind the scenes TV series on Emerald Park starts this week

A NEW four-part fly on the wall TV series documenting the creation of Europe's largest intertwining steel roller-coasters at Emerald Park will air its first episode this week.

‘Nerves of Steel’ a full access behind-the-scenes series follows the trials and tribulations of the largest rollercoaster of its kind in Europe, an ambitious vision that required a €22-million-euro investment from its late founder, Raymond Coyle.

Filmed over two years in Ashbourne's Emerald Park (previously known as Tayto Park), Nerves of Steel produced by Moondance Productions is a captivating four-part documentary offering an exclusive glimpse into the making of the Emerald Park’s highly anticipated Tír Na nÓg development which includes two new-state-of-the-art intertwining rollercoasters which are part of its first fully themed and immersive land project.

Due to open May 2024, the state-of-the-art coasters called, ‘Na Fianna Force’ and ‘The Quest’ will be the longest intertwining family and thrill coasters in Europe, offering an unparalleled rush for thrill-seekers seeking the ultimate adrenaline fix!

The rollercoasters have been designed and engineered by the Dutch manufacturing company, Vekoma, a major supplier for Disney.

Along with the two main rollercoasters, the new Celtic-themed area, Tír na nÓg, will also introduce a third classic theme park attraction, known as a ‘The Celtic Dreamer.’ This 56-seater attraction is a colourful, spinning, flying sensation where young and old can take in the unmatched sight of Tír Na nÓg as they soar to 12 metres and beyond.

It is more than just a behind the scenes documentary—it’s a testament to the power of teamwork, passion, and perseverance of the Emerald Park team in continuing and completing the ambitious vision of its late Founder, Raymond Coyle. Through its candid portrayal of the Emerald Park team’s journey, this series invites viewers to share in the triumphs and challenges of the Tir Na nÓg development.

Nerves of Steel starts on RTE One on Friday at 8.30pm.
