It's Oldcastle all they way in delayed fixture

Oldcastle... 5-14

Na Fianna...0-2

This much delayed FL Div 7 fixture finally took place on Tuesday evening with Olcastle securing a big win.

It was Na Fianna who scored the first point of the match, but it went downhill from there for them. A Ryan Kevin free got Oldcastle off the mark, followed by a lovely point from Louis Colleran.

A Lee Healy intercept fed onward to Paul Hennessey, to Rory Crawley and back to Paul who slammed her to the back of the net for Oldcastles’ first goal, Garrett O’Reilly adding a point soon after.

Lee Healy was awarded a penalty but was denied by the Na Fianna goalie, and they scored their second point soon after. Ross Cadden was next on the scoreboard for Oldcastle, with a goal from JP Purcell and another point from Hennessey leaving it Oldcastle 2-5, Na Fianna 0-2 at the break.

The second-half continued in similar fashion, Oldcastle taking plenty of scores, but unbelievably; missing nearly as many, the amount of goals gone wide was unreal. In fairness to Na Fianna they were very low in numbers, while Oldcastle had a super bench to call on.

A nice moment in the half when with James Gibney high-fiving his cousin and replacement Tom Lynch.

Tom was making his delayed senior debut and marking his return from injury.

Indeed, near the end a Na Fianna player suffered an injury and had to come off, with Oldcastle also removing a player as the opposition had no subs left.

When the final whistle blew it was Oldcastle who were well ahead.
