Donore DIY enthusiast to feature in next episode of new TG4 series

A young Donore DIY enthusiast is to feature in the next episode of a new series for TG4.

Déan Tú Féin É, a brand new 6-part series on TG4 seeks to nurture viewers ‘can do’ attitude and give advice and tips about ‘the how to’ and ‘the when to’, when undertaking big and small DIY projects.

Driven by DIY enthusiast, founder and artistic director of Branar Marc Mac Lochlainn, the presenter’s practical hands-on approach and infectious enthusiasm for all things DIY, will inform, entertain and encourage six novice DIYers who wish to undertake, long avoided backyard projects.

In the second episode (airs 2/5/24) presenter Marc travels to Donore to help a young man, Lochlainn Mac an Chnoic whose broken gate at the side of his house is causing a lot of problems. Not only will Marc and Lochlainn solve the gate problem, they will also build a beautiful bin storage unit for the bins that caused the problem with the gate in the first place.

Also in the second episode, Bríd Treasa Ní Ghaoithín, the show’s curious reporter, will will meet 2 new DIY heroes; Gearóid de Faoite (Greystones, Co.Wicklow), a man who transforms drums from old, discarded washing machines into beautiful bespoke furniture and fire pits. She will also chat to Aileen Hogan (shabby.ie -Terryglass, Co. Tipperary), a very creative woman who really encourages everyone to give DIY a go no matter your experience or ability.

There will be something for everyone in this series, from the budding DIY enthusiast to the experienced DIY heroes, all united by one aim to improve their homes and living spaces for the better.

Each show, produced by TV production newcomers, Glór Media, under the guidance and mentorship of Tyrone Productions will chart the true and inspiring progression of these skills with a follow up visit and big project reveal.

Déan Tú Féin É airs over six weeks, from Thursday 25th April @ 8pm on TG4 and on the TG4 Player - TG4.ie.
