Rathkenny made the short journey to Nobber worthwhile as they came away with both points in this ‘P S Supplies Doors and Floors’ FL Div 3, round four match played last evening.

The visitors shot out of the blocks with five points without reply in the opening eleven minutes. County player Keith Curtis putting over the opening four points (one free) and half forward Daniel Gavagan adding the fifth.

On thirteen minutes the hosts played a cross field ball to the edge of the square before drilling to the bottom corner of the net. Jack Gore steadied the ship with a point before the visitors sent two wide of the posts. Keith Curtis extended the gap to four with a pointed free before Nobber replied with their first point.

The visitors' Daniel Gavagan sent over from play on the 20-minute mark and then Noah Jenkinson sent over his first point of the night as the lead went out to five.

Nobber pointed from play on 22 minutes before the visitors sent over three in a row via Keith Curtis, Ciaran O’Hare, and Noah Jenkinson to close their first half account with five minutes remaining. I

In the 28th minute Nobber sent over their third point of the night before referee Peter O’Halloran brought first half proceedings to a close. Nobber 1-3 Rathkenny 0-12.

Thirty-five seconds into the second half Noah Jenkinson scored his third point of the night. From the kickout, Nobber went straight down the other end to pop over their fourth point of the night.

Things got better for the visitors on 33 minutes, as a great passing move ended with Ciaran O’Hare sending through Christy Meade who blasted to the net and the gap was out to nine.

The hosts then popped over three points in a row, before Keith Curtis steadied the Rathkenny side with a 40th minute point from play. Nobber responded with a point from play before Keith Curtis ended his night with a free on the three-quarter mark.

Substitute Noah McBride added Rathkenny's sixteenth point of the evening with twelve minutes remaining. Patrick Knowles extended the gap to nine points with 53 minutes on the clock.

Nobber dug deep to claw the deficit back to two points as they pointed on 55 minutes before two goals arrived on 56 and 59 minutes. Daniel Gavagan added his third point of the evening with a fisted effort as the clock ticked past 60 minutes. In the three minutes of injury time both sides had chances but did not add to their accounts.
