Dunboyne tennis players spring into action in Friendly League

With only one point in the difference, the players representing Dunboyne Tennis Club were worthy runners up to the winners, Leixlip in the recent Spring Ladies Tennis Friendly League.

This tournament is for tennis players who no longer play or wish to take part in the more competitive Dublin Lawn Tennis Council League.

In 2017 it was decided to hold the competition twice a year, hence the Spring/Autumn title.

Participating clubs are Castleknock, Celbridge, Clane, Dunboyne, Leixlip, North Kildare and Ratoath.

The Dunboyne team was Christina Shannon, Jean Clarke, Amanda Leahy, Maria Mills, Suzanne Heavey and Orlagh Keating.

Recently a collection of talented players from two Dunboyne teams made their mark in the Dublin Lawn Tennis Council Winter League finals which were held at Portmarnock Tennis Club with the ladies winning their section and the men finishing runners-up in their category.
