‘It’s my turn to support and cheer on other small businesses, and especially all our great women in business’

Carnaross business owner Leah Cooney says she was inspired to get involved in this year's Meath Style Awards to “cheer on” other women in business after winning the top award at last year's ceremony.

Leah who owns Leah's Holistic Therapies scooped the coveted “Excellence in Style” award in 2023 having also won the award for Best Customer Experience.

The glittering event takes place on June 7th and as always, will be a night of summer fun, entertainment and glamour to recognise the highest calibre of enterprise in Co, Meath.

Paul Carroll, stylist and former winner will host this year’s event, which honours the best of the best in business under the umbrella of style, in the stunning surrounds of the Headfort Arms Hotel in Kells.

Sponsors for this year's event are Specsavers, Headfort Arms Hotel, Meath County Council, Ambrose Clinton, Skin and Bodyworks, Crew Barbers and Leah's Holistic Therapies.

Speaking about coming on board as a sponsor for the upcoming Meath Style Awards Leah said:

“I’m so excited,” she said. “For me this is a full circle celebration, after winning the Best Customer Experience and Overall in Excellence awards last year and winning ‘Best Salon/Spa’ in 2019 it is now my turn to support and cheer on other small businesses, especially all our great women in business,” added Leah.

It was honestly the best feeling to win the overall awards last year. I have seen and cheered on so many finalists over the years and for my small business to get recognised last year I was completely overwhelmed.”

“I am now 15 years in business and I won’t lie it is full on and at times demanding, it can be worrying and overwhelming but I chose to do it and couldn’t imagine it any other way.

“I'm incredibly lucky that I wake up to spend time with wonderful clients and meet so many amazing people.”

The owner of Leah's Holistic Therapies encourages all local entrepreneurs to put their name forward for the Meath Style Awards.

“Every year I always encourage small businesses to enter the Meath Style Awards. I love this event as it gives that platform and opportunity to be seen by a new audience, especially if they may not have the marketing funds to advertise like other big companies.

“It’s also a brilliant chance to make connections with other business owners too. An evening of celebration and an excuse to glam up for the evening!”
