WATCH: O'Reilly stunner mere consolation for New York

While it was a chastening day for New York in the Connacht SFC against Mayo in Gaelic Park yesterday, there was small consolation for Carnaross man Frank O'Reilly who scored the goal of the day with a stunning strike.

Former Meath u-20 and junior star O'Reilly received the ball at pace and powered through the Mayo defence before unleashing a fierce drive to the roof of the net.

It was only a consolation goal as it closed the gap to 1-3 to 1-14 in the 42nd minute, but it was a fine strike from an excellent player.

O'Reilly finished as New York's top scorer with 1-2, including a fine point from a mark.

Mayo went on to win the game by 2-21 to 2-6 with Ryan O'Donoghue scoring 1-13 for the winners.
