Warning over illegal waste collections as mattresses, pillows, chairs and tyres found dumped in Duleek

Meath Co Council has warned the public of an illegal waste collector operating in East Meath.

Recently, there was a large quantity of waste dumped on the Duleek to Julianstown Road (above).

Household furniture such as mattresses, pillows, chairs and other items such as car tyres, were among the dumped items.

The council issued the advisory just days after the major recycling day at Bellewstown Racecourse.

Meath Co Council said: "If this (the waste dumped) is yours or you saw this being collected, please get in contact with Meath Co Council and help prevent this from happening again.

They added: "Never give your waste to an illegal operator. Meath Co Council spends over €1m cleaning up illegal dumping each year. Always check for a waste collection permit at www.nwcpo.ie"
