Cyclist (60s) killed in Kildare collision

A cyclist has been killed in a collision in Knocknagee, Co Kildare.

The man aged in his 60s was involved in a collision with a car at around 11.20am on Sunday.

Emergency services attended the scene, where the cyclist was pronounced dead.

His remains have been taken to Naas General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Gardaí said no other injuries were reported from the collision.

The road at Knocknagee, near Carlow Town, has been closed while a forensic examination of the scene takes place, with local diversions in operation.
