Second Aontú candidate for Navan

Navan-based teacher, Francis O'Toole has been selected by Aontú as a second candidate to run alongside Cllr Emer Tóibín in the upcoming Local Elections in the Navan area of Meath Co Council.

Party leader, Peadar Tóibín said: "Francis has been a well respected secondary school teacher in the town for many years. He has worked as a guidance counsellor, a psychotherapist, and an author with over four decades of experience.

"Francis will fight for Navan Hospital, the rail line to be built from Dublin to Navan, for increased housing and community facilities. He is inspired to join Aontú because this party embodies his own qualities; an ability to listen and sincerity in both words and actions.

"Francis advocates for our young people through robust local support networks, better counselling services, youth cafes and such attractions, all geared towards empowering our young. As a devoted father Francis is acutely aware of the challenges facing our youth today; the high cost of purchasing a home or even renting, as well as high anxiety in a social media-heavy digital world."
