Ashbourne Young Social Innovators Speak Out on reducing screen time

The Coláiste De Lacy teenagers were among 47 teams from secondary schools in Leinster, including from Meath, who spoke out on a host of topical issues, including homelessness, inclusion, gender equality and the ‘pink tax’, sustainability and fast fashion.

The students from Coláiste De Lacy presented their Screen Savers project on ways to reduce screentime before a panel of special guests from the technology, community and education sectors, local authorities and partner organisations.

The Speak Out Tour will continue to further locations around the country on dates in March, including Cork, Drogheda, Sligo and Kilkenny.

A total of 5,190 second-level students from across Ireland will gather in teams to present 348 positive change projects during the tour.

The YSI Speak Out Tour is supported by Dublin City Council and Cork City Council.
