WATCH: Oldcastle GFC's Strictly Come Dancing raises over €250k
Oldcastle GFC’s Strictly Come Dancing, held last weekend in the Kilmore Hotel, was hugely successful, with over a quarter of a million euro raised for the North Meath Club.
The standard of dancing was exceptionally high, and the crowd of 1400 people were enthralled by the show that was put on for them.
With 24 couples dancing, the judges were hard pushed to pick a winner, but in the end it was the hugely popular young Oldcastle lad Lee Healy, dancing with Castlerahan-Denn’s Eimear McEnroe, who took the honours, with an energetic dance to “I’m so excited.”
Wild scenes of jubilation greeted their announcement as winners, with the encore bringing the house down!
Oldcastle GFC aim to build a new clubhouse at Millbrook, due to increased player numbers, and hope to get the project underway later this year.
“This is an amazing start to our project, and we are so grateful to all our dancers, sponsors, and everyone who helped us with Strictly” said Club Chairman Dermot Monaghan.
“Our new clubhouse will really make Millbrook into a family friendly destination for all our members, and we look forward now to getting the project started!”
