In every sport they can be found, invariably in every club. People who give unstinting, unremitting service to that club, team, cause.

They might be the folk to put out the cones and train under-age teams, year after year braving all manner of weather to hone and craft young players for the future so that they will be of some service to the cause, the team, club or community.

The unsung hero might be someone who goes around selling tickets or lines for the club lotto and helps to raise essential funds. They could be someone who washes a team's jersey every week or fills in as a PRO, outlining the teams/clubs achievements on the field of play, recording the great feats and triumphs achieved perhaps for posterity.

An unsung hero is just that, someone who is content to toil relentlessly away in the background, well away from the glare of the limelight, looking for no other reward but the fulfillment of their tasks that accompany their roles. People who put their heart and soul into what they are doing for the benefit of others.
