Lawes confirms he will seek re-election

Independent Navan councillor, Alan Lawes has announced that he will seek re-election in this summer's local authority elections.

Cllr Lawes, who has been a member of Meath County Council since 2019, is married to Dee with four grown up daughters, and is well known for his homeless and housing activism.

"I am looking forward to standing before the people again as a councillor and I hope that the work I have done over the past five years will be taken into consideration.

"I have always made the most vulnerable a priority, which is why I launched an outreach programme for the homeless. We deliver hot food to the homeless and hampers to people in Navan living in food poverty."

Cllr Lawes is a member of Johnstown Tidy Towns. "We have had great success through working with Meath County Council on the Green Mile Scheme and on keeping Johnstown pesticide free over the past three years.”

He is very proud of Johnstown's success in the Pride of Place Awards.
