An Post release deadlines dates for Christmas deliveries

An Post has confirmed the deadlines for getting items delivered before Christmas.

The Christmas countdown is underway and with just two weeks to go until the big day, many people are making final preparations and posting cards and parcels are a big part of that.

An Post has issued posting dates for anyone planning to send letters, cards and gifts, to make sure they arrive in time for 25th December.

If you are sending something to someone within the Republic of Ireland whether it be standard letters, parcels or express post, you should send it on or before 21st December, to ensure your recipient gets it on time.

Post for Northern Ireland should be sent by 19th December and by 18th December for Great Britain.

Standard and express post for the rest of Europe and the USA have just passed their dates of recommendation for sending to the recipient, however for International Courier Services the final dates are 20th December for Great Britain, 19th December for the rest of Europe, and the 15th December for the USA and rest of the world.

An Post customers are also being advised that there will be no mail delivery or collection from 23rd December until 27th December.

Mail delivery and collection is due to make a return on December 28 in time for the new year festivities.
