The award-winning group is "delighted" to repeat their annual Christmas Show this December in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

Gluais performed at Trim's Christmas Lights turn on (30th November)

On behalf of the Scoil Mhuire band, musical director Mícheál Kerr said: "We are very excited to perform our first concert in Trim's new theatre. Thanks to the many local volunteers for their commitment and dedication, Trim now has this incredible performing arts space for groups to use. We were privileged to perform for the President of Ireland in the theatre during the summer and look forward to bringing our annual Christmas Show to the venue this December."

With a variety of Christmas songs and carols to be performed by the 40 strong band of teenagers, this festive night is one not to be missed.

All proceeds and profits from the night will be donated directly to the Irish Cancer Society. Mícheál explained the reasoning behind choosing this charity: "Unfortunately cancer is an illness that affects every family in some way. It was an easy choice for us therefore to choose the Irish Cancer Society as they do incredible work each year in supporting those in need. We are glad to play a small part in donating all proceeds to this worthy charity."

Last year, Gluais' Christmas concert was a sell-out show with people unfortunately turned away at the door. However, this year Gluais have decided to add a second night. Their youthful energy and harmonious blend with Irish traditional music brought all the Christmas classics to life, leaving the audience on their feet for a standing ovation.

The members of Gluais have certainly made a name for themselves over the past 12 years, gaining much credit and acclaim for their polished performances and pitch perfect vocals.

Earlier this year they took to the stage of the world renowned Festival Interceltique de Lorient in France and performed in front of crowds of up to 700,000. Their blending of Irish traditional musicians, singers and Irish dancers together showcases Irish music and culture at the highest standard.

The Swift Cultural Centre is not the only performance Gluais will do this Christmas season. On 14th December, Gluais will be travelling to Crumlin Children's Hospital to visit and perform for the children and parents on the hospital wards. Mícheál Kerr said that this is "one of their Christmas highlights every year".
