Na Fianna sustain Leinster ambitions

The Na Fianna Ladies Football team travelled to Swords to play the Dublin Intermediate Champions Fingallians on Sunday 29th October.

While the home side got an early goal, the Na Fianna girls settled well and a goal from Maire Kirby saw the Na Fianna girls lead 1 – 6 to 1-3 at half time.

The Swords girls were back in the game after ten minutes of the restart with a well taken goal. However, the next five minutes defined Na Fianna’s character.

A goal from Shauna Ennis immediately after the Fingallians goal and a penalty save by keeper Caroline Gallagher set the Na Fianna girls on their way.

* On Saturday 28th October the County Senior Camogie Champions took on the Kildare Champions Naas in the Leinster Intermediate Championship quarter final in Baconstown going through to a Leinster semi final as well.

This is an special achievement for the club particularly as 10 players were involved in both codes over the weekend.
