Memorable achievement by Trim in claiming Junior B title

Trim 5-7
Kilbride 0-5
Trim sdult Ladies are county champions after a dominant display against a determined Kilbride Team at St Vincent's GAA, Ardcath.
On a wet day, conditions were tricky for both teams. Credit to the host club for the condition of the playing surface. Trim were without the injured Shona White and Anna Foley, both out with Thumb injuries.
Both teams started in a determined fashion and it was Trim who scored the first point through Niamh Mahon.
Trim continued to push, and Alex Donoghue found the net with a great effort from distance, to put Trim four points in front. Kilbride got their first score from a free a short time later.
Trim's defence were brilliant, with Dearbhla Brady, Kate Dunne, Cliodhna Vaughan, Megan Flynn, Anna Bolger and Captain Adelle Carolan Flynn, dominating their opponents. Trims Goalkeeper, Grainne Ni Laoire was having a fantastic game in goal, dominant under the high Ball and her kickouts started many Trim attacks.
In attack, they were equally dominant, Emma Hanifan pointed in quick succession, before Niamh Mahon scored Trims second goal with a fantastic shot to the corner, giving the Kilbride keeper no chance.
As half-time approached Meg Ní Scolaí finished off a fluent Trim Attack, to raise the third Green flag of the day, and give Trim a 3-4 to 0-1 half-time lead.
Kilbride began the second half in determined fashion, but Trim scored the first point through Mahon. In Midfield, Sinead Murphy and Sarah Caulfield were having fine games, working tirelessly with and without the ball.
Trim forwards Aoife Mc Donnell and Abby Moyles were a constant threat to Kilbride, linking up brilliantly with their fellow forwards.
Kilbride scored the next two points, but Trim hit straight back with two goals from the prolific Emma Hanifan. Mahon then added a point. It was fitting that, Player of the Match, Sinead Murphy, got the final score of the game, when she converted a point from a tight angle.
Referee Henri Clifford brought proceedings to a close, and Trim were County Champions, to add to their Masita Cup victory earlier in the year.
Adelle Carolan Flynn excepted the Trophy on her teams behalf, a team that included her own daughter, Megan, a fantastic and proud moment for both players and their family.
Special mention to players who had contributed to Trims championship win this year, but who have gone travelling overseas, Aideen Downes, Amy Mc Dermott, Sophia Maguire,
Also Ellen Dennis and Ciara Ní Scolaí. Also Aoibhin Shortt and Nora Jean Lenehan, who suffered injuries during the year.
Trim now move up to Junior A next year, a huge step forward for this young team. The players and management will enjoy the celebrations and the break until early next year.
Trim GAA would like to thank our main sponsor Bellinter House, and also acknowledge the support of Trim Hardware and Tara Financial throughout the year.
