Bohermeen athletes sparkle at Meath Cross-Country Championships

Bohermeen Athletic Club had another great day at round two of the Meath Cross Country Championships, which took place at the Navan Adventure Centre on Sunday last.

On the day the club had five individual title winners, Rose Finnegan a former under 20 European 800mts participant had her first run in cross country in a few years and came home a convincing winner of the Ladies Intermediate title - and she led Bohermeen ladies to silver team medals.

Also among those to win titles in convincing fashion were TP Smith Carberry in the boys u-17 5,000mts race, Emma Hunt won the girls u-17 title and her sister Tara took the girls u-13 title and the youngest winner on the day for the club was Conor Briody in the boys u-11 races.

The Bohermeen men’s Intermediate selection claimed the team title for the first time since 2010 and run over 8,000mts it was a true test of stamina as they climbed the testing hill six times throughout the race, the winning team was Conal Courtney, John Carroll, Damien Hilliard, James Sherlock, Tom Monaghan, Gearoid Rennicks, Blaine Rennicks, David O’Connell.
