Ratoath ambush Trim as Kildalkey and O'Mahonys win
Ratoath shocked Trim today in the SHC defeating the reigning champions 2-17 to 1-19 in the semi-final at Pairc Tailteann today.
Gavin McGowan and Niall McLarnon found the net for Mike Cole's side who put in a strong second-half display after trailing 1-6 to 1-10 at the interval.
Podge O'Hanrahan had a huge influence for Ratoath firing over a series of scores to help his side carve out the brilliant, surprise victory.
In the IHC semi-finals at Trim Kildalkey showed too much firepower for Kilskrye/Moylagh winning by 2-15 to 2-9 with Padraig Geoghegan and Derek Doran firing to the net.
Willie McGrath grabbed two goals for Kilskrye/Moylagh.
In the second semi-final Navan O'Mahonys also built on a bright start to win, 2-15 to 2-10.
Sean McDermott and Shane McCarthy found the net for the Hoops who led 2-8 to 0-4 at the break. Donaghmore/Ashbourne staged a strong comeback with two late goals scored by Darragh O'Sullivan and Michael O'Sullivan but it was a classic case of too little too late.
